What makes Chapel Down Union Red Wine special?
"A light red wine which shows the freshness and delicacy of fruit from England."
This blend of Rondo, Pinot Noir, Regent and Early Pinot Noir was handpicked from Kent vineyards in October 2016 after a warm, dry ripening season.
Hand-picked grapes are destemmed before fermentation in stainless steel. Cap management is through pumpovers twice daily, warm fermentation helps extraction of both colour and tannin. Maturation occurs in stainless steel for 9 months before bottling.
"One of the better English reds, made from Rondo and Pinot Noir grapes. It produces a medium bodied wine that is perfect for sipping pre-theatre to keep a clear head."
The Sunday Telegraph, October 2016.
